Oure soverane lord, with advise and consent of the thrie estaitis of this present parliament, for divers considerationis moving thame tending to the quietnes of this realme, haif gevin and grantit and, be the tennoure of this present act, gevis and grantis to James Spens, sone lauchfull to umquhile David Spens of Wilmerstoun, the like grace and benefite of the pacificatioun maid at Perth upoun the xxiij day of Februar, the yeir of God jM vC lxxij yeiris, and ratifeit and apprevit in his hienes parliament haldin at Edinburgh in the moneth of Aprile, nixt tharefter in the yeir of God jM vC lxxiij yeiris, without exceptioun; and willis the samin pacificatioun, without exceptioun, to be als amplie extendit in the said James favouris in all respectis, conditionis, clauses and circumstances thairof as the said umquhile David had bene expreslie comprehendit and contenit thairin. And alsua his hienes, with advise of the estaitis of the said parliament, willis and grantis that the said pacificatioun, without exceptioun, be amplie interpretit and endit to the said James in all clauses thairof as said is, and specialie that this present act of parliament according to the said pacificatioun be sufficient to rescind, retreit, lyke as oure said soverane lord and estaitis foirsaidis retretis and rescindis the proces of forfaltour led aganis the said umquhile David for certane crymes of tressone and lesemajestie commitit be him, and to restoir and reintegrat as his hienes, with advise foirsaid, restoris and reintegratis the said James aganis the samin, siklike and als frilie in all respectis as gif the said proces had nevir bene led and dome of forfaltour had nevir bene gevin after the forme and tennour of the said pacificatioun, quhilk, and everie claus thairof, is heirin haldin pro express; and ordanis this present act to be extendit in competent and dew forme as effeiris, restoring fullelie the memorie, honour and fame of the said umquhile David in the persone of his said lauchfull sone, lyke as oure soverane lord and thrie estaitis of this present parliament restoris and rehabilitatis the said James sone foirsaid thairto; and findis and declaris the said James abill to enter and succeid as air to the said umquhile David, his father, be brevis of oure soverane lordis chepell or utherwyse, to the quhilkis the said umquhile David had rycht and possessioun thairof, notwithstanding the said proces of forfaltour or ony thing following thairupoun.†
