The benefite of pacificatioun grantit to the Lord Somerwell

Oure soverane lord, of his speciall grace, with avise and consent of the thrie estaitis of this present parliament, and upoun weychtie and guid considerationis tending to the establisching of peax and quietnes and universall obedience of his hienes auctoritie within this realme, hes gevin and grantit and, be the tennoure heirof, gevis and grantis to ane noble and mychtie lord, Hew, lord Somerwell, his brethir, father, brethir men, tennenttis, servandis and proper dependaris upoun him, that he and thay sall have, bruik and injoy the lyke favour, benefite and privilege quhilkis ar contenit in the pacificatioun maid and accordit upoun at the burgh of Perth upoun the xxiij day of Februer, the yeir of God jM vC threscoir twelf yeiris, ratefeit and apprevit sensyne in parliament; and decernis and ordanis the said pacificatioun to be als favorablye and lairgely extendit in favouris of the said lord and his foirsaidis for the securetie of thame, thair lyves, landis, actionis, causis, possessionis, guidis and geir quhatsumever, or as gif thay war specialle and expreslie nominat thairin, or as gif the haill articles, clauses and conditionis of the same war heirin specialle contenit and expressit. And for the better securitie, oure said soverane lord, with avise of his saidis thrie estaitis, hes ratefeit and apprevit and, be the tennoure heirof, ratefeis and apprevis the foirsaid pacificatioun gevin and grantit in maner abonewryttin to the said noble lord and his foirsaidis, provyding alwayes that the same extend not to the murthouris of umquhile our said soverane lordis darrast and James, erle of Murray, and Mathow, erle of Levenax, regentis to our said soverane lord for the tyme, bot be thir presentis specialle and expreslie exceptis the samyn.
