Item, oure soverane lord, with avise of my said lord regentis [...] and haill body of this present parliament, hes statute [...] in caise ony oure soverane lordis trew liegis, beneficit men, happ[...] hurt, slane or woundit to the deid, and thaireftir of the saidis hurt[...] to de in oure soverane lordis service and in defenc[...] his auctoritie at ony tyme aganis the foralfit and declarit [...] presentlie being within the castell and burgh of Edinburgh and utheris, [...] oppin and manifest ennemeis, resistaris and conspiratouris aganis [...] auctoritie, during all the tyme of the oppin and manifest resistence th[...], that the narrest of the said beneficit mennis kin, able and qualifiit, sall haif the presentatioune, provisioune and collatioune of his benefice for that tyme alanerlie, and the samin tobe disponit to the narrest of his kin that happinis to be slane or deceis in maner foirsaid, being alwais able and qualifiit thairfoir as said is; and the proffittis of thair benefices, with the fructes specialie on the grund, with the annual rent, thaireftir to pertene to thame and thair executouris, alsweill abbottis, priouris as all uther kirkmen.

Anent the ward, releif and mariage of thame that salhappin tobe slane in oure soverane lordis service in defence of his majesties auctoritie

Item, my lord regentis grace, with avise of the thre estaittis and haill body of this present parliament, hes statute and ordanit that in caise ony erlis, lordis, baronis, frehaldaris, landit men, gentilmen or ony utheris persoune or persounis salhappin tobe slane, hurt or woundit to the deid, and thaireftir of the saidis hurtis and woundis to de at ony tyme in defence of oure soverane lordis auctoritie aganis certane his forfaltit and declarit tratouris presentlie being within the castell and burgh of Edinburgh and utheris, his majesties oppin and manifest innymeis, resistaris and conspiratouris aganis his hi[...] the tyme of the oppin and manifest resistence thairto, that [...] sall haif thair ward, nonenteres, releif and mariage fre [...], dispensand with thair minoritie and les age quhat eild that [...], without payment of ony teynd penny or uther proffite thairfoir, and [...] all utheris lordis, spirituall and temporall, bayth of valsallis [...], providing that the airis foirsaidis persew and obtene enter[...] lordis within thre termes eftir the deceis of thair faderis, or [...] uther personis quhomto thai ar to succeid for the cau[...]. [...] gif the saidis airis be of les age, within tutorie and beis [...] landis and heretage befoir thair age of xiiij yeiris, quhilk [...] negligence of thair tutouris and utheris, thair friendis, oure sovera[ne lord] privilegeis and grantis to thame that thai may enter within thre [...] eftir thair compleit age of xiiij yeiris as said is, and this to be extendit to the mediat air that is to succeid to the persoune that happinnis to dec[...] during the tyme and in maner foirsaid. And becaus it may happin the persoune or personis that happinis to deceis in maner and during the tyme foirsaid to haif na lauchfull bairnis of thair bodeis by the air, thairfoir ordanis that the proffite of the ward landis be tane up be thair moderis (gif thair be na tutouris testamentaris) alslang as scho remanis wedo, and, failyeing thairof, be the narrest and lauchfull tutouris of the saidis bairnis to be distributit to the sustentatioun of the air and to the utilitie and proffit of the remanent his brethair and sisteris, to the perfite age of the said air or airis: that is to say, gif the airis be maill of xxj yeiris and gif thai be femaill of xiiij yeiris, the proffite of the said airis mariage being ay fre to him self, the moder, tutour or governour findand sufficient cautioune befoir the lordis that thai sall mak compt, rekning and payment of thair intromissioune befoir the lordis of counsale or in the chekker yeirlie; and gif the airis of the personis that happinis to de as said is haif ony fewis, that thai enter siclike to thair few landis haldin of quhatsumevir personis, sprituall or temporall, within the termes foirsaidis without ony payment of the few.

Item, oure soverane lord, with avise of my said lord regentis grace, thre estait[...] and haill body of this present parliament, hes statute and ordanit that [...] ony erle, lord, baroune, frehaldar, vassell, subvassall, fewaris, mail[...]men, tenentis, rentallaris, possessoris or commonis happinis [...] woundit to the deid, and thaireftir of the saidis hurt[...] de, in oure soverane lordis service and in defence of his [...], aganis certane his forfaltit and declarit [...] being within the castell and burgh of Edinburgh, and utheris, [...] and manifest innymeis, resistaris and conspiratouris [...] auctoritie, during all the tyme of the oppin and [...] thairto, that thair airis, executouris or assignais [...] thair aune wardis, releiffis and mariageis in thair [...] disponit thairon as thai sall think ex[...] thair wiffis, bairnis, executouris or assignais sall br[...], stedingis, rowmes and possessionis, alswele of kir[...] temporall mennis landis, and enter thairto and remane thair[...] frely for the space of five yeiris without ony gressume or entre silver, payand alanerlie males and dewiteis, usit and wount; and this act alswele to extend upoune kirkmennis as temporall mennis vassallis as upoune or soverane lordis [...].
