Procedure: protests

The quhilk day Oliver Sincler of Quthytkirk desyrit to be admittit in presence of my lord regent and thre estaitis of parliament, to procure and protest as effeirit for the Laird of Rosling, his cheif and kynnisman.

The Laird of Hess[...]eid, Johne Fergushill of that Ilk, for thame selffis, Robert Ker of Kerrisland, Adam Montgomery, youngar of Breidstane, Andro Neving of Monkredding, [...] Dunlop of Craig, James Lokart of Lee, [...] Monsod of that Ilk, [...] Craufurd of Bedlem, [...] Ker of Trearne, Thomas Merjoribankis of Ratho, protestit that the forfaltour of the Erle of Eglingtoune hurt not, nor prejuge not thame, nor nane of thame, anent the propirties of the tenandriis quhilk thai hald of the said erle.

The Lord Simple protestit that the foirfaltour of the said Erle of Eglintoune nor his voting prejuge him not anent the actioune of spulye, quhilk he hes dependand befoir the lordis aganis him.

The commendatar of Cambuskynneth protestit, conforme to his protestatioun gevin in writ, that the foirfaltour of the Lord Fleming prejuge him not.

The lairdis of Blairwhon, Barganye, Clonkaird, Paul Reid, burges of Aire, protestit that the foirfaltour of the erle of Cassillis prejuge thame [not], nor nane of thame.

The Laird of Donypace protestit that the foirfaltour of the Lord Fleming hurt not, nor prejuge thame not.

Thomas C'l of Sanctgely Grainge, Maister Johne Marjoribankis, in name of Thomas Marjoribankis, protestit that the foirfaltour of the Lord Hereis nor his sone prejuge nocht thame.

The wassallis of the Laird of Rosling protestit inlikewyse, quha promesit to gif in thair names.

The justice clerk, James MacCartnay, Johnne Dikesoune of Winxstoune, protestit that the forfaltour of the Lord Yester prejuge not thame etc.
