Item, the kingis grace, with avise of my lord regent and thre estatis of this present parliament, statutis and ordanis that na maner of person nor personis be ressaifit in ony tyme heirefter to beir publict office removabill of jugement within this realme, bot sic as professis the puritie of religioun and doctrine now presentlie establischeit; and that nane be permittit to procure nor admittit notar, or creat ane member of court in ony tyme cuming, without he in lyke wise profes the evangell and religioune foirsaid, provyding alwayis that this act be on na wyse extendit to ony maner of person or personis havand thair offices heritablie or in lyferent, bot that thay may use the samin conforme to thair infeftmentis and dispositiounis grantit to thame thairof.
