The parliament of the most excellent prince and lord James V, by the grace of God king of Scots, held and begun at Edinburgh on 9 March 1540 [1541] by the commissioners so subscribing, namely the most reverend and reverend fathers in Christ David [Beaton], cardinal and archbishop of St Andrews, Gavin [Dunbar], archbishop of Glasgow, chancellor, Patrick [Hepburn], bishop of Moray, Robert [Cairncross], bishop of Ross, Archibald [Campbell], earl of Argyll, James [Hamilton], earl of Arran, the venerable fathers in Christ Alexander [Milne], abbot of Cambuskenneth, Robert [Reid], abbot of Kinloss, John [Erskine], lord Erskine, Malcolm [Fleming], lord Fleming, William [Ruthven], lord Ruthven, Walter [Lindsay], lord St John, Sir Thomas Erskine of Brechin [and Halton], [secretary], Master James Foulis of Colinton, clerk register, Master Thomas Bellenden [of Auchnoull], justice clerk, Master Henry Balnaves [of Halhill] and Master Henry Lauder [of St Germains], king's advocate, along with William [Keith], earl Marischal, Patrick Baron [of Spittalfield], constable deputy, Andrew Dalmahoy, sergeant, and John Anderson, dempster.

On the which day Christina Wardlaw, widow of the late Robert Leslie, Master Andrew Leslie, George Leslie, Master John Leslie, Gilbert Leslie, Elizabeth Leslie and Thomas Hamilton, her spouse, for his interest, [...] Leslie, nun, sons and daughters of the late Robert, often called by royal summons under testimony of the great seal of the realm directed thereon to answer personally to our supreme lord the king or his justiciar in the present parliament, and for seeing and hearing the said late Robert discerned to have incurred the crime of lese-majesty while he lived by the three estates for certain treasonous actions committed by him, and not compearing, it was continued to 14 March next to come, with continuation of days, in the form and effect that it is now, without prejudice of the parties.

On the which day Margaret Forrester, widow of the late James Colville of Easter Wemyss, James Colville, son and alleged heir of James, Alison Colville, daughter of James, and the widows, sons and daughters of the late James having interest, often called by royal summons under testimony of the great seal of the realm directed thereon to answer personally to our supreme lord the king or his justiciar in the present parliament, and for seeing and hearing the said late James discerned to have incurred the crime of lese-majesty while he lived by the three estates for certain treasonous actions committed by him, and Margaret, James and Alison being present, it was continued to 14 March next to come, with continuation of days, in the form and effect that it is now, without prejudice of the parties.
