The parliament of the most excellent prince and our lord, the lord James V, illustrious king of Scots, held and begun at Edinburgh on 11 March 1537 [1538] by the lords commissioners written below, namely the most reverend and reverend fathers in Christ Gavin [Dunbar], archbishop of Glasgow, chancellor, Henry [Wemyss], bishop of Galloway, James [Hay], bishop of Ross, the noble and powerful lords George [Leslie], earl of Rothes, John [Erskine], lord Erskine, the venerable fathers in Christ Alexander [Milne], abbot of Cambuskenneth, Robert [Reid], abbot of Kinloss, Sir Adam Otterburn of [Auldhame and] Reidhall, Master James Foulis of Colinton, [clerk register],† and Thomas Scott of Pitgorno, justice clerk, appointed by special commission of our lord the king, with William Wauchope of Niddrie-Marischal, deputy of [William Keith, earl Marischal], marischal, Patrick Baron [of Spittalfield], deputy of [William Hay, earl of Erroll], constable, John Anderson, dempster, and Andrew Dalmahoy, sergeant.
