†Item, our sovereign lord ordains the act made by King James II, by which it is ordained that no ship be freighted out of the realm with any staple from the Feast of Simon and Judas Day [28 October] to the Feast of the Purification of our Lady called Candlemas [2 February], be observed and kept and put to execution in all points with this addition: that the pain of those who come in contradiction thereof shall be in times coming £20 to be raised from each person, breakers of the said act, except it shall be lawful to send any kind of merchandise out of the realm in the time foresaid in any ship that brings in salt or wine.
