Procedure: preamble and sederunt

The court of parliament of the said prince held at Edinburgh on 28 August 1534 by the lords commissioners written below, namely the venerable father in Christ Robert [Reid], abbot of Kinloss, Master James Foulis [of Colinton], clerk register, Nicholas Crawford [of Oxgangs], justice clerk, Master James Lawson, provost of Edinburgh, and Thomas Scott of Pitgorno, with Master David Ireland, deputy of [William Keith, earl] Marischal, James Young, deputy of [William Hay, earl of Erroll], constable, Andrew Dalmahoy, sergeant, and John Anderson, dempster.

Procedure: continuation of parliament

On the which day, the present court of parliament was continued by the lords commissioners written before, with all actions pending therein, in the form and effect that it is now, to 23 September next with continuation of days, without prejudice of any party.

Procedure: proclamation of continuation

We do make known to you that our sovereign lord, with the advice of his lords of council, has continued and continues this present parliament, with all actions, causes and summonses depending thereupon, in form, force and effect as they are now, without prejudice of party, until 23 September 1534, with continuation of days, requiring and charging all prelates, barons, freeholders, burgh commissioners and others that ought to be present in the said parliament to compear the said day to give their advice in the said parliament in the matters concerning the king's grace and the common welfare of the realm under the pain of law.
