Procedure: protest

Compeared Master Robert Galbraith, advocate to [Margaret Tudor], the queen's grace, and alleged that [Archibald Douglas], earl of Angus, owed her great sums of money and other goods and, therefore, protested that the process of forfeiture led against him be no hurt or prejudice to her grace regarding the same, but that she may have as much of his lands reserved to her in the said process as will extend to the value and quantity of the sums that she shall happen to obtain from the said earl or any others succeeding in his lands or goods, especially considering that she has him under summons for the said debts.
