†On the which day compeared Sir John Campbell, Sir George Blair, John Muir of Woodland and Alexander Muir, and protested that since they were summoned at the instance of Margaret Muir and Neil Montgomery to bear witness in a matter between the said Margaret and Neil on that one part against William Muir, and that they had remained long to be called and no man would call them, that therefore they should not be held to answer until they were of new called and their expenses paid to them.
