[On the which day the king, present with the three estates, and with their consent, ratified the grant made to Isobel Elphinstone and Robert Maxwell of Calderwood, her husband, of lands lying in the lordship of Stewarton, in feuferme, as is contained more fully in the king's charter made at Edinburgh on 14 January 1524 [1525], twelfth year of the reign, notwithstanding any annexations, unions, etc., made by the king or his predecessors to the contrary, and commands the foregoing to be granted under the great seal.]
