Item, that all giftis maid to ony persounes of oure soverane lordis propirtie sene the cuming of the kingis grace furth of the castell of Striveling haif na forther effecte in tyme tocum, bot adnullis and dischargis the samyn for ever becaus it is understand that his hienes and houshald can not be furnist according to his estate without his propirtie cum in hale to the furnissing of the samin.

Item, it is statute and ordanit that, forsamekle as the lordis of counsale and utheris oure soverane lordis liegis resortand and reperand to the toune of Edinburgh may be invadit, persewit or trublit be evill avisit persounes being in the castell of Edinburgh be schot of gun, that, therfor, the capitane of the said castell suffir na gunnis to be schot furth of the samin to the hurt, damnage or skaith of ony of oure soverane lordis liegis, nor that he suffire nane of the artilyery gunnis, pulder, bulletis or uther municiounes now being in the castell forsaid to be remufit furth of the samyne to ony uther place bot be the avise and command of the lordis chosin of counsale, under the pane of tresoune; and that na gunnaris pass to the castell of Edinburgh without command and charge of the saidis lordis under the pane of deid.

Item, forsamekle as laitlie in the ix yere of oure soverane lordis regne, the xxviij day of Marche at Edinburgh, thair was be sinister informacioune directe a summondis of tresoune apone James, erle of Mortoune, lord of Dalkeith, and therefter execute be officiaris summonand him for certane crymes of tresoune allegit done be him in resett, supple and help of David Hume of Wedderburn, his brether, and complicis, than tratouris and rebellis agane our soverane lord and for his tresonable assistance, counsell and fortificacioune gevin to thaim in diverse thair tresonable dedis, and als for the tresonable counsale, help, supportacioune and assistance gevin to umquhile Gawyne, bischop of Dunkeld, in his tresonable passing in Ingland, lik as at maire lenthe was contenit in the summondis maid tharupoune, quhilk summondis towart the day of comperance therof was cleirlie understand to the governor, than in Scotland, and to the lordis of our soverane lordis counsale, was in all the punctis in contenit vane, untrew and had na veritie, quherfor the samyn summondis was than cancellate and deliverit to the said erle, never therefter to have effecte. Therfor, now in this present parliament, the kingis grace and thre estatis of this realm declaris at the said summondis and all the punctis in contenit war untrew and ordanis that never summondis in tyme tocum be gevin tharupoune, or accusatioune or challangis be maid agane the said erle or his airis for ony of the punctis contenit in the said summondis, quhilkis thai declaire had na effecte or strenthe, bot, as is cleirlie understand the said erle has evire bene the kingis trew baroune and liegis. And als, quhare laitlie thair was ane deliverance writtin be certane persounes in consell ordanyng summondis of tresoune to be gevin apoune Archibald, erle of Anguse, lord Douglace, Jhone, erle of Levinax, lord Dernlie, and utheris with thaim, thair complicis, for thar cuming to the toune of Edinburgh on the nycht, and for uther punctis than ymagynit aganis thame allegit done in contemptioune and contrare the kingis auctoritie, the kingis grace and thre estatis of this realm in this present parliament, havand perfyte knawlege at the cuming of the said erlis at that tyme to this toune of Edinburgh was alanerlie to offire thair humyle service to the kingis grace and nocht to commyt ony manere of cryme of tresoune, or to do ony hurt or harme to ony of oure soverane lordis liegis as clerlie apperit be thar dedis beand than in Edinburgh, therfor, oure said soverane lord and thre estatis ordanis the said deliverance to be deleit out of all bukis and be distroyit and put away, and declares at the said erlis and thar complicis at that tyme committit na cryme of tresoune be na manere of way and, therfor, that thair be never accusatioune nor mentioune therof in tyme tocum.
