21 June, the lords auditors sat except [James Abercrombie], abbot of Scone and Robert Mercer

The lords auditors decree and deliver that Master William Lennox of Cale shall content and pay William Richardson, burgess of Dieppe, the sum of £120 14s and 4d [of] Paris for expenses, in which the said Master William was condemned to pay the said William by James Disome, licenced in law and lieutenant general at the table of marble in the palace of Paris, under a noble lord Louis, lord Gravil, counsellor to the king of France and great admiral of France. And also that the said Master William Lennox shall content and pay the said William Richardson the sum of £204 6d [of] Paris for damage and interest adjudged by the said judge to be paid to the said William and taxed by the said judge, as sufficiently proven by a process, sentence and certain letters executorial directed by the aforesaid James Disome for that, shown and produced before the lords, and ordain that letters be written to distrenzie the said Master William Lennox of his lands and goods for the said sums.

21 June, the lords auditors sat in the afternoon except [William Elphinstone], bishop of Aberdeen, [James Abercrombie], abbot of Scone, [John Lyon], lord Glamis and Robert Mercer

The lords auditors decree and deliver that Janet Seton, lady of Dirleton, shall enter Janet Haliburton, the spouse of the late John Sinclair, in each and all of these four husband lands lying in the town of West Fenton, with their pertinents, for all the days of the said Janet Seton's life, that is to say, the other half husband land that Bartholomew Forows occupies, half a husband land that William Wait occupies, a husband land that Peter of Congalton occupies and a husband land that Thomas Congalton occupies, to be peacefully used, laboured and manured by the said Janet Haliburton freely without there being any obstacle, impediment or demand from any kind of persons for that, and the same lands shall be withdrawn from and cleared of all other persons in favour of the said Janet between now and the next 8 days according to the letters and decreets previously given for that and of letters of tack made to her for that, and the execution of the letters passed on the said Janet Seton [are to] be postponed and delayed in the meantime without prejudice of party, which 8 days being past and the said Janet Seton not making the said Janet Haliburton peacefully [entered] into it, [the lords ordain] that letters be written to put the letters previously passed in the said matter into execution, and the said Janet Seton [is] to content and pay the damage and injury of that party insofar as it can be proven to be her fault, and ordain our sovereign lord's letters be directed for this, and both parties were present through their procurators at this action.

The lords auditors appoint 8 October next, with continuation of days, for Alexander Innes of that Ilk, intromitter with the goods of the late James Innes of that Ilk, to prove sufficiently that the late James Howison, Alexander Howison, son, heir and executor of the said late James, John Howison, Sir Philip Howison and Janet Howison, executors of the said late James, are contented and paid for the sum of 20 merks annually for the past 15 years for an annual rent paid by the said late James Howison and his said heir and executors of Isobel Sandilands, daughter of the late John of Sandilands of Calder, knight, and ordain him to have letters to summon his witnesses, and the parties are summoned according to the act.

The lords auditors decree and deliver that John Oliphant of Kellie shall content and pay Walter Stewart and John of Stirling, executors of the late Alexander Stewart of Avondale, the sum of £12 usual money of Scotland, owed by the said John Oliphant's obligation signed with his hand, shown and produced before the lords, and ordain that letters be written to distrenzie the said John of his lands and goods for that, and he was summoned to this action, often called but did not compear.

The lords auditors decree and deliver that Alexander Innes of that Ilk, intromitter with the goods of the late James Innes, shall free, release and keep Alexander Howison, son, heir and executor of the late James Howison, John Howison, Sir Philip Howison and Janet Howison, also executors of the said late James, uninjured at the hands of Isobel Sandilands, daughter of the late John of Sandilands of Calder, knight, for the payment of an annual rent yearly of 20 merks in the future for all the time that the lands given to the said Isobel by the late James [Hamilton], lord Hamilton shall happen to be in our sovereign lord's hands by reason of ward, according to the tenor of the said late James Innes' obligation shown and produced before the lords, and ordain our sovereign lord's letters be directed for this, and the said Alexander was present at this action.

The lords auditors appoint 8 October next, with continuation of days, for Alexander Howison, the son, heir and executor of the late James Howison, and the rest of the executors of the said late James, to prove sufficiently that the writing ordaining James Howison to pay the sum of £40 usual money of Scotland to Simon Logan and Walter Haliburton is the late James Innes of that Ilk's own handwriting, as the letter purports, and ordain them to have letters to summon their witnesses, and the parties are summoned according to the act.

The lords auditors appoint 8 October next, with continuation of days, for Alexander Howison and the rest of the executors of the late James Howison to prove sufficiently that the letters, writings and obligations produced by them regarding the sum of £40, £20, ten merks, £10 10s, £20, £23 13s 4d, 4 Demis, 2 ducats, a unicorn and 12s of silver, were under the late James Innes of that Ilk's signet and signature, because Alexander Innes of that Ilk denied the said hand writings and letters, and ordain them to have letters to summon their witnesses, and the parties are summoned according to the act.
