Judicial proceedings: acts of the lords auditors of causes and complaints

In the cause pursued by Ellen [Douglas], lady Graham, against Christian [Erskine], lady Graham, and other persons contained in the summons and concerning the exception made by the said Christian against the said Ellen that she should be under sentence of cursing, the lords auditors continue the action until the eighth day of the exchequer and ordain that letters of summons be directed to Master John Mosset, commissioner of Dunblane, and that Sir John Scott compear on the said day to declare the conduct of the said process before the said lords and also to summon James of Drummond the said day to bear witness.

John Mathison, burgess of Dundee, compeared and alleged that he was summoned to Robert Mite's suit, the said Robert being called but not compearing, the said John protested, seeking his costs and damages before he would answer in judgment in the future in the said cause.
