Procedure: preamble and continuation

The parliament of our most excellent prince and lord, the lord James III, by the grace of God most illustrious king of Scots, held and commenced at Edinburgh on 20 November 1469, and in the tenth year of his reign. On which day were called all and sundry the lords of the realm, prelates, bishops, abbots, priors and the great men of the kingdom, earls, barons, freeholders and commissioners of the burghs; those absent are named in the rolls of suits, and judged to owe amercements; and the parliament was continued to the following day, namely 21 November, with continuation of days.
