[Oaths taken; protest over precedency; acts approved]

The rolls called.

[Alexander Leslie], earl of Leven took the oath of allegiance and oath of parliament.

[James Johnston], earl of Annandale protested that the calling of [Alexander Leslie], earl of Leven should not prejudice [James Livingstone], earl of Callander of his precedency before him according to the date of his patent; and desired both their patents might be presently tried and judged. The parliament recommends to the lords of the articles to hear both parties and report.

A report of the articles concerning the precedency due to the clerk register, advocate and treasurer depute read, voted and approved. And an act statutory passed thereupon.

Act for sequestering [George Gordon], marquis of Huntly's rents that are in possession of [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll.

[Sentence put to execution; witnesses examined; warrant granted]

The former sentence against [William] Govan, with his answers thereto, being read and considered by the parliament, they ordain the same to be put to execution against him.

Some witnesses being led against [William] Dundas of Magdalens, the parliament finds the charges against him proven.

Warrant for recording [Sir Thomas Hamilton], laird of Preston's losses.
