[Oaths taken; patent read]

The rolls called.

[James Crichton], viscount of Frendraught did take the oath of allegiance and oath of parliament.

The chancellor produced a patent under the great seal of 8 September last creating [John Scrimgeour], viscount of Dudhope to be earl of Dundee etc. which being read, and the parliament acknowledging with all duty his majesty's favour to the said earl, the lord commissioner's grace did deliver the same to [William Ramsay], earl of Dalhousie who, in name of the earl of Dundee, received the same on his knee.

Act concerning the obligation of the league and covenant in reference to England approved and touched with the sceptre.

Act concerning the disposal of vacant stipends approved and passed.

Act repealing the act of parliament in March 1647 entitled 'Act liberating the good subjects from all pursuits, criminal and civil, of the rebels'.

Act concerning Adam Hepburn and Elizabeth Johnston, ordaining Elizabeth Johnston to find caution to him for the rents of Humbie, according to the report of the commissioners of bills.

Act concerning [Patrick] Waterstone in Orkney for bringing him and his witnesses to Edinburgh.

Act for [Sir Alan] MacLean choosing his curators and supplying the letters of supplement.
