The lord commissioner this day represented to the parliament that [William Cunningham, earl of Glencairn], lord chancellor, and [John Leslie], earl of Rothes, being employed to wait upon his majesty, and it being fit that some minister should be appointed to go along with persons of that eminence, he had therefore appointed Doctor James Sharp, his majesty's chaplain, to wait upon them, the parliament do concur with his majesty's commissioner therein, and accordingly ordains the said Doctor James Sharp to go along with and wait upon the lord chancellor and earl of Rothes in this journey.
