[Letter read and remitted to the committee of estates; overvaluing of the coin approved; making up of the king's regiment remitted to the committee for managing the affairs of the army]

Letter from Adrian and Cornelius Lampson to the parliament of 20 January 1651 read and remitted to the committee of estates to take an effectual course for their satisfaction, and with power to them to lay the same upon the country if they can find no other means, which the parliament declares to be as sufficient as if it had been done by the parliament themselves.

It being put to the question whether or not the money should be overvalued and heightened, it was voted affirmative, and that the 12s Scots should be cried up to 1 merk, and the rest of the Scots and English money accordingly, and the double angel to £15 Scots and the rest of the Scots and English gold proportionally; and ordain [John Kennedy], earl of Cassilis, Sir James Murray, Sir John Smith [of Grotehill] and George Gardyne to meet and give a table of money and gold and of the foreign money according to this proportion.

Remitted to the committee for the army to take course for making up the king's regiment out of the first levies or otherwise as may be most convenient, with power to them to make it complete.

Report from the committee of the military affairs anent the payment of the garrison of Stirling of three months of arrears read and passed.

Ordain the several bodies to join one of every estate with those who examined [Alexander Fraser of] Philorth to consider his deposition and report.
