†Letter from William Stewart to [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll concerning Inchgarvie read and remitted to the committee for military affairs.
Ordain [Sir Daniel Carmichael of Hyndford], treasurer depute, and Robert Hepburn of Keith to go to the west country with the letters and instructions to be sent there.
†Letters, one from General Major Holburne to [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll, and another from Colonel Robert Montgomery to [John Campbell, earl of Loudoun], lord chancellor, read and remitted to the committee for the military affairs.
That a letter be written from the king and parliament to the general lieutenant to return with all diligence immediately after the receipt of the letter, which was accordingly done.†
†The estates of parliament nominate and appoint Sir John Smith [of Grotehill] to be commissary-general after voicing.
The parliament continues [John Maitland], earl of Lauderdale in the same condition as he was until his supplication be taken into consideration by the parliament, and declares the expiring of the diet not to be prejudicial to him until he gets the parliament's answer.
Ordains the committees to meet at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and the committee for the expenses of the coronation to meet tomorrow morning, and the parliament to meet tomorrow at 9 o'clock.
