That five letters be drawn to be sent to those who should have been present to give an account of the muster which should have been at the rendezvous.

Remonstrance and petition from the commissioners of the general assembly to the king's majesty and estates of parliament presented by Mr Robert Douglas and certain other commissioners of the general assembly, with a supplication from the ministers in Lothian to the moderator and other commissioners of the assembly, with another supplication from the ministers of Tweeddale to them, with a paper containing the sense of the commissioners of the general assembly upon the western forces' remonstrance, with another paper, bearing a warrant to present the sense of the commissioners of the kirk anent the remonstrance, and concerning the particulars charged upon the two brethren, read in presence of parliament. [John Campbell, earl of Loudoun], lord chancellor, in name of his majesty and estates of parliament, did return them hearty thanks for their seasonable warning and constant correspondence, and further desired that, since the sad truths mentioned in the paper are generally reflecting upon all, that they would be at the pains to take trial of the particulars that so they may be applied to the right parties. And as to the last desire anent their going on against the enemy, declare that they shall be careful to go actively about the same as God shall give them assistance.

Ordain the committee of the military affairs to meet presently, and the parliament at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

Ordain two of every estate to be added to the committee of the military affairs to be named at the first meeting of the bodies.

Letter from General Major Holburne to [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll read in parliament, and referred to the committee of the military affairs, who are to meet at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Ordain the committees to meet at 2 o'clock, and the parliament at 4 o'clock.
