Act anent the laird of Murkle's confinement, June 1650
At Edinburgh, 19 June 1650. The estates of parliament, taking into their consideration a supplication given in to them by Sir James Sinclair of Murkle, bearing that the supplicant, having granted bond to Lieutenant General David Leslie for appearing before the parliament or their committee, and being come to give obedience, fearing to be incarcerated, craved humbly that he might have liberty to remain within the town of Edinburgh's suburbs thereof and what further bounds the parliament should prescribe, as at more length is contained in the said supplication. Which being taken into consideration by the said estates of parliament, they have ordained and ordain the said Sir James Sinclair to remain within the town of Edinburgh's suburbs thereof and Leith, to which bounds he is confined, and in no way to go without the same without liberty of parliament under the pain of [...] on every occasion for each contravention, and this in respect [...] is become cautioner for him to the effect aforesaid under the pain above-written.
