[Payment of arrears; recovery of papers from the battle of Carbisdale]

The committee thinks fit that Lieutenant Colonel Halkett and Strachan be put in an equal condition anent the recompense to be given to them for their late good service in the north, and what is given to the one, that the same be given to the other.

The committee thinks fit that 500 merks Scots be given to Colonel White for finding and bringing the papers [...] that were found in Carbisdale Wood, to be had out of the [...] with the rest of the officers' recompense.

[Order to the laird of Swinton concerning papers; order for bringing prisoners to Edinburgh; disposal of frigate at Loch Ryan]

[John Swinton], laird of Swinton appointed to speak with Corporal Nisbet anent the papers informed to be cast over board, and having spoken with him made report that there was none cast over board at all.

Six persons appointed fit to be given to Corporal Nisbet for bringing three prisoners here, to be paid out of that which should have been advanced for the shipping to be sent northwards.

The committee thought fit that the first frigate at Loch Ryan be disposed of by Sir Robert Adair [of Kinhilt] and [Andrew Agnew of Lochnaw], sheriff of Galloway, as they think fit, and the master of the said frigate and any of that company.
