†Remit to the conference to think and consider (in case of invasion of any of the shires) whom they will think to be the person to have the charge of convening the rest of the shire, and that malignants have not power to draw parties together in arms, and so in effect to consider the best posture of the kingdom.
†Remit also to the conference to think what shall be thought fit for the parliament to emit to the kingdom.
†Remit the paper given in by [John Campbell, earl of Loudoun], lord chancellor, to the conference, and ordain them to meet and give in their opinion relating thereto with all possible diligence.
Ordain a letter to be written to the king of France anent the new imposition imposed upon salmon and herring, and Mr Thomas Henderson to draw the letter.

†Ordain the committee anent the king's house to consider who is fit to be continued of those who were officers and servants about the king's house, and who are to be placed therein, without prejudice of any right due to the master of the household in the nomination of the new, and to report their opinion therein to the parliament; and appoint the committee and [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll, master of the household, to deal with Archibald Campbell to accept the place of the clerk of the kitchen in place of William Butter, wherein they desire to employ him as a most fit, able and honest man.

The lists of horse and foot [of the levy]† agreed upon and passed in parliament.
Ordain the meeting with the kirk to be at 3 o'clock, and thereafter the conference to meet the rest of this afternoon. The bodies to meet tomorrow at 7 o'clock and the parliament at 10 o'clock.
