On the twenty third day of parliament

Prayers heard and rolls called.

Commission granted to the sheriff of Tweeddale and others for doing justice upon William Falconer.

Letter from Gilbert Richard and Mr William Adair to the provost of Ayr read and remitted to the committee of dispatches, with power to them to call for and examine the carrier of the letter and report.

The estates of parliament having heard the report concerning Alexander Munro, they ordain him to remove himself out of this kingdom and to enact himself under the pain of death not to return without liberty of parliament, nor to do anything in prejudice of the kingdom.

Supplication Valenus Swan, Robert Touch, James Drummond, Laurence Baird and William Drummond read, and ordain Valenus Swan, Robert Touch and James Drummond to be put to liberty, they enacting themselves to remove out of the country and not to return under the pain of death, nor do any thing in prejudice of the kingdom; and ordain Laurence Baird to be delivered to [John Swinton], laird of Swinton; and ordain the other William Drummond, son to Balloch, to remove himself out of the country and not to return under the pain of death, and in case he returns, ordain Balloch, his father, to be bound under such a sum as the committee of processes shall think fit to present him to the parliament or committee, which being done, ordain him to be put to liberty.

Report Walter Whitford and Captain Robert Stirling read and passed according to the deliverance.

Report Mr Andrew Sandilands and Mr James Kid and Mr Baldro read. Ordain them to be put to liberty, they enacting themselves to remove out of the country and not to return without liberty of parliament under the pain of death, nor do any thing in prejudice of the country.

The estates remit the supplication given in by the two excommunicated papists who are in prison, namely: Robert Irvine and Jean Menzies, his wife, to the committee of processes.

Supplication [Sir Robert Campbell], laird of Glenorchy and [Sir Dougal Campbell of] Auchinbreck read and remitted to the committee of processes, with power to them to remit the same to a subcommittee to be chosen out of their number and report.

Supplication provost and bailies of Edinburgh read and remitted to the committee of fines, and recommend to them to take an effectual course for their payment.

Remit to the committee of processes to draw up a citation against Lewis Gordon and to insert the crimes, the certification, the place of citation and diet of compearance and report.

Protection granted to certain of the name of MacKenzie whose names stands undeleted until 15 August next.

Ordain the subcommittee of exchequer to meet at 3 o'clock, the committee of the exchequer to meet on Monday at 7 o'clock in the morning, and the two committees to meet at 10 o'clock in the exchequer house, with power to them to think upon the best means for providing the king's house. The committee for the conference to meet on Monday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the bodies on Tuesday at 7 o'clock and the parliament to meet on Tuesday at 10 o'clock.
