The estates of parliament, considering how necessary it is for the good of this kingdom that all commissioners appointed by the last parliament should meet and act according to the power given to them by virtue of their commissions, therefore they have continued and hereby do continue the same commissions appointed by the last parliament to the same persons respectively contained therein, and ordain the quorum of all the said commissioners in their several commissions to be without distinction†; and appoints three of the commissioners of the treasury and three of the commissioners of exchequer to be a quorum, to act and do according to the commission granted to them.

The estates of parliament, having taken the report given in concerning Mr Lampson's business into consideration, and in particular that part thereof appointing the annualrents to be reduced to 6 per cent constantly in all time coming, do therefore ordain the annualrent of the money to be reduced, and by this act reduce the same to 6 per cent in time coming without alteration from 1 August instant, and declare the said 6 per cent to be free in all time coming of all retention and public burdens. And the said estates appoint £13,000 sterling as a part of the sums due to Mr Lampson to be laid upon the maintenance of the whole kingdom, burgh and land, according to the rule of maintenance by adding to the maintenance £1,100 sterling monthly for 12 months after 1 August without any deduction for quarterings or any other cause whatsoever, and refer to the committee of estates to proportion the aforesaid sum to be paid by the shires and burghs monthly according to the maintenance.

The estates of parliament have given and granted and give and grant warrant to the committee of war of the several shires to try if any torture has been used against any person suspected or guilty of the crime of witchcraft, and to report to the parliament or committee of estates before execution be done upon them.
