The estates of parliament, having taken into their consideration the earnest desire of John Leith of Harthill, desiring to be set at liberty out of the tolbooth of Edinburgh or else to have so much daily allowance as he may live, they have ordained and ordain the provost and bailies of Edinburgh to set the said John Leith at liberty out of the tolbooth of Edinburgh within 24 hours next after the intimation of this act, and, if need be, ordain letters of horning to be directed hereupon against the said provost and bailies to the effect above-specified on a simple charge of 24 hours as said is.
