Ratification in favours of Alexander Hamilton of Dalziell

The king's majestie and the estates of parliament, now presentlie conveind, hes ratified, approven and confirmed and heirby ratifies, approves and perpetuallie confirmes the chartor maid and granted by his majestie, with consent of his majesties' commissioners of thesaurie and exchequer of this realme, undir his majesties' royall hand and great seall, of the date at Whitehall, the tuentie-fourth day of May jM vjC and sevintie-ane years, to Alexander Hamilton of Dalziell, and to the aires male lawfullie procreat or to be procreat of his body, whilkis failyieing to his aires of taillie and provisione therincontained, heretablie and irredeimablie, off all and haill the lands and old barronie of Dalziell, with tower, fortalice, maner place, houses, biggings, yairds, orchyairds, milne, milnelands, multurs, woods, fishings, tennents, tennandries, service of frie tennents, pairts, pendicles and haill pertinents therof; and of all and haill the halfe lands and barronie of Dalziell, als wiel propertie as superioritie therof, called Dalziell Nisbitt, with the mansione, maner place, houses, biggings, yairds, orchyairds, milnes, milnelands, annexis, connexis, woods, fishings, tennants, tennandries, service of frie tennents, pairts, pendicles and haill pertinents therof, with the advocation, donation and right of patronage of the kirks and chaplanries of the same, lying within the parochines of Dalziell and Hamilton and shirrefdome of Lanerke, all formerlie unite in ane haill and frie barronie, called the barrony of Dalziell, with the ample novo damus contained in the said chartor, togidder also with the change of holding by his majestie, with consent forsaid, of the saids lands and old barronie of Dalziell, and als of the saids halfe lands and barronie of Dalziell, als wiel propertie as superioritie therof, called Dalziell Nisbite, with castle, tower, fortalice, maner place, houses, biggings, yairds, milnes, woods, fishings, advocation, donation, right of patronage and pertinents therof abovewrittine, all unite in the forsaid barronie, called the barronie of Dalziell, from waird to taxt waird, for payment of the taxt dewties undirwrittine, viz, of the soume of four hundreth merkis Scots money yearlie, at two termes in the year Whitsunday and Martimes in winter be equall portions, whensoevir it shall happin, the saids lands and barronie of Dalziell lying unite, creat and incorporat, as said is, to fall and become in the hands of his majestie or his successors, be reassoun of waird and nonentrie, or aither of them, and the soume of four hundreth merkis money forsaid for the releiff therof, when the same should happin, with the soume of eight hundreth merkis money forsaid for the mariage of the aire or aires of the saids lands and barronie, when it should happin, notwithstanding the same wer formerlie holden of his majestie be service of waird and releiff, togidder also with the ample discharge contained in the said chartor of all bygain wairds, releiffs, nonentreses and mariages of the saids lands and barronie, togidder with the precept and instrument of sasine following or to follow upon the said chartor, in all and sundrie the heads, articles and clauses respective abovewrittine, and in all other heads, articles, clauses, circumstances and conditions of the samyn in all points, aftir the forme and tennor therof. And his majestie and the saids estates of parliament, doe heirby declaire, decerne and ordaine that this present generall ratificatione is and shall be als valide, effectuall and sufficient, to all intents and purposes, as if the forsaid chartor, precept and instrument of sasine to follow heirupon heirby ratified wer word by word and at lenth insert and ingrossed heirintill, and whilke his majestie and the saids estates holds as ane pairt heirof, and heirin speciallie exprest brevitatis causa, queranent and with all that may or can be objected or alledged against the validitie or legallitie of the said chartor, with the precept and instrument of sasine to follow therupon, or of this present ratificatione therof, his majestie and the saids estates of parliament hes dispensed and heirby dispenses for evir.
