Anent the supplication presented to the king's majestie and estates of parliament be Lord Neill Campbell, mentioning that it wer very convenient for commerce and trade, and for the wiel of the kingdome and subjects living and resideing within the lordshipe of Lorne, that there be two faires in the yeir appointed to be keept at Clachan in Nethir Lorne, being the petitioner's propertie, which would also be a great ease and advantage to the haill shirrefdome of Argyll and other persones who doe resort to that place; humblie therfor, desireing libertie for holding of two frie faires yeirlie at the said Clachan in Nethir Lorne, as the supplication beirs. Which being taken into consideration, the king's majestie, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, doe heirby give and grant to the said Lord Neill Campbell, his aires and successors, two frie fairs yeirlie to be keept at the said Clachane in Nethir Lorne, the one upon the tenth day of May and the other upon the tenth day of October yeirlie, in all tyme comeing, for buying and selling of all sort of merchandice and other commodities necessar and usefull for the countrey, with power to the said Lord Neill Campbell and his forsaids, or such as they shall appoint, to collect, intromett with and uptake the tolls, customes and dewties belonging to the saids two yeirlie frie faires, and to enjoy all other liberties, priviledges, freedomes and immunities, siclyke and als frielie as any other hes done or may doe in the lyke caices.
