To my lord commissioner, his grace, and the right honorable the estates of parliament, the petitione of Charles, earle of Marr.
Sheweth,
That whair your petitioner being infeft in the lands and baronie of Kildrummie lyand within the shireffdome of Aberdeine, without the previledge of weiklie mercates and yeirlie faires ther, the want whairof is not only great prejudice to your petitioner bot to the wholl countrie adjacent thairto, thair being no mercattes for manie mylles; and that it wold be verie advantageous for his maj[esties] leidges and for the good of commerce to have weiklie mercates and a yeirlie fair keiped and setled thair, and since your petitioner's lands lyes most convenient thairfor.
May it thairfor pleas your grace and lo[rds] to give your petitioner the libertie of a weiklie mercat at the Nathertoun of Kildrummie upon Weddensday, and a yeirlie fair upon the twentie twa day of July, being Marie Magdalen day, to be keiped at the kirk of Kildrumie yeirlie, with all priviledges of toll and custome and uther imunities knowin to belong thairto.
