Edinburgh, 25 October 1669
The comittie of parliament apoynted for discussing of contraverted comissiones, haveing considerit both parties comissions of the shyre of Stirling, and hard both the comissioners therupon, do find that nather of the ellections have been formall or conforme to the acts of parliament, bot that both apeir to have been partially caried on. And therfor it is the opinion of the comittie that ther be ane new election of comissioners for the said shyre at Stirling upon the fourth day of November nixtocome, and ordanis the shiref clerk to give intimatione heirof to all the heretors concerned and that on[e] of thes who wes comissioners to the last parliament be preses to the said meiting; and als it is the opinion of the said comittee that the non residence of heretors salbe no exception why they may not ellect or be ellected comissioners for the said shyre.
