The king's majestie, being carefull that justice be administrat to all his subjects with expedition, and als litle trouble and charge as may be and for that end, that his judicatories be regulat (hes therfor be commission under his great seale of the tuentie-one of September last, empowered some noblemen and others of his privy councill and session) as the judicatories of the privy councill, session and justice courts, and considering how necesser it is that the commisser courts, shirreff courts, borrow courts and councills, and all other inferior courts of justice, be also regulat, doth therfor, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, give heirby power and commission to the persons nominat in the former commission and quorum therof to consider and regulat the saids inferior courts and formes of proceidings therin, and the pryces of all writs, fies and dews to be taken any maner of way be any persons in or relateing to the saids courts, and to set doun such orders and rules theranent as they shall judge necessary for these ends, and as may make effectuall his majesties' gracious intention, that his subjects be releived and secured against oppression and exactions, and that justice be administrat, with als much speid and ease as may be, and that they returne to his majestie in writ ane accompt of their proceidings, that his majestie may take such course therin, as in his royall wisdome he shall think fit.
