Our soverane lord, with advice and consent of the estates of parliament now presently conveend, ratifies and approves and, for his majestie and his successors, perpetually confirms the charter and infeftment granted be our said soverane lord, with advice and consent of the lords and others commissioners of his majesties' thesaurie and exchequer in Scotland, to Sir Philip Anstruther of that ilk, knight, his airs maill and assignays whatsomever heretablie, off all and haill the lands toun and barronie of Anstruther, with tour, fortalice, maner place, mains, houses, bigings, yeards, cunnigars, the milne of Anstruther and milne lands therof, links, dowcats, tofts, crofts, outsets, multers, woods, fishings, parts, pendicles, annexis, connexis, dependences, coalls, coallheughs, tennents, tennendries, service of frie tennents, and all their pertinents whatsumever, lying within the shirreffdome of Fyffe; and all and sindrie the paroche teinds and teinds called the viccarage teinds or land viccarage, fruits, rents, emoluments and dewties of all and sindrie the forsaids lands, toun and barronie of Anstruther, with parts, pendicles and pertinents therof whatsumever (excepting only the teind fishes of the saids lands, toun and barronie), lying within the parochine of Kilrinnie and shirreffdome of Fyffe forsaid; as also, the milne called the milne of Pittenweyme, with the milne [and] milne lands therof and aikers adjacent therto, extending to eightein aikers of land or therby, with the houses, bigings and pertinents therof, with the haill astrict multers and frie multers, sucken and knaveship therof belonging to the said milne, and spetially the astrict multers, sucken and knaveship of all and haill the lands, toun and barronie of Pittenweym; and also, of all and haill severall other aikers of land lying in and about the said burgh of Pittenweym, sumtyme occupied and possest in maner contained in the said charter, with that house lying within the burgh of Anstruther Wester, bak and fore, with the yeards and pertinents therof, called the Fishhouse, and these houses, yeards and pertinents therof lying in the toun of Miltoun, presently occupyed and possest be William Scot, with the peice of arable land called the Bakdykes with the pertinents therof, occupyed and possest be the airs of wmwhile Alexander Keir, with tennents, tennendries and service of frie tennents of all and sindrie the lands and others abovewritten, all lying within the barronie [and] lordship of Pittenweym and shirreffdome of Fyffe; with the office of baillierie of the haill lordship and barronie of Pittenweym, haill priveledges, fies, proffeits and casualities whatsomever belonging therto mentioned in the said charter; and siclyk to the said Sir Philip Anstruther, his airs and assignays whatsomever, heretablie and irredeimably, off all and haill the south halff of the lands of Balhoussie, with the maner place, dowcats, houses, bigings, yeards, orchyeards, milne, milnelands, tofts, crofts, annexis, connexis, tennents, tenendries, service of frie tennents, parts, pendicles and pertinents thairof whatsumever, lying within the shirreffdome of Fyffe, which charter proceideth upon the resignation of the said Sir Philip Anstruther himselff and upon the resignation of Mr George Gibsone of Balhoussie and Mr George Gibson, second lawfull sone to Sir Johne Gibsone of Pentcaitland, knight, and severall other persons particularly therin named; together with the new gift and disposition contained in the said charter granted be his said majestie to the said Sir Philip Anstruther, and his forsaids, off all and haill the saids lands and barronie of Anstruther, comprehending the lands and others abovewritten, and of all and haill the said south halffe of the saids lands of Balhoussie, with the pertinents therof forsaids, lying as said is, all erected, unite, annexed and incorporat in ane haill and frie barronie called the barronie of Anstruther, to be holden of his majestie and his successors in fie and heretage for ever, be the which charter, for the causes therin contained, the holding of the saids lands is changed from waird to taxt waird, the airs, successors and assignays of the said Sir Philip Anstruther paying to our said soverane lord and his successors, for the waird and nonentries, the soum of four hundreth merks Scots, and for the releiff the lyke soum of four hundreth merks money forsaid, and for the mariage the soume of one thousand merks money abovespecified, when any of them shall happen to fall, all be the said charter taxt to the soums abovewritten and holden and esteemed reasonable, as in the said charter, of the date at Whitehall, the sext day of August 1669 yeers, at more lenth is contained; together with the precept of sasine direct furth of his majesties' chancelarie upon the said charter, under his majesties' quarter seale, together also with the instrument of sasine competent to follow therupon, in all and sindrie the heids, points, clauses, articles, circumstances and conditions contained in the said charter and precept, and after the soumes and tenors thairof in all points. And his majestie, with advice and consent of the estats of this present parliament, statuts and ordains the said charter, containing the conversion abovewritten from waird to taxt waird, precept of sasine forsaid and instrument of sasine to follow therupon, to stand, subsist and to be good, valeid and sufficient rights and securities to the said Sir Philip Anstruther and his forsaids, in so far as concerns the interest of his majestie and his successours† in tyme comeing. And also, with advice and consent forsaid, wills and grants and, for his majestie and his successors, decerns and ordains that this present ratification is and shall be als valeid, sufficient and effectuall to the said Sir Philip Anstruther and his forsaids as if the said charter, and precept and instrument of sasine to follow therupon, wer heirin at lenth de verbo in verbum specially and particularlie insert and ingrost; wheranent, our said soverane lord, with advice and consent forsaid, hes dispensed and, be thir presents, dispenses for ever.
