The king's majestie and estates of parliament now presently conveened hes ratified, approven and confirmed, lykas heirby ratifies, approves and perpetually confirms, the charter and infeftment made and granted be his majestie, under his royall hand and great seale, dated the fifteinth day of October 1667 yeers, to and in favors of Archibald, earle of Argyll, and his airs of tailyie and assignays therinspecified, off all and haill the lands and earledome of Argyll and barronie of Auchingarrane, containing and comprehending therin the particular lands, lordships, barronies, offices, priveledges, casualities, castles, tours, fortalicies, teinds, patronages and others with the pertinents therinspecified, containing a novo damus with the precept and instrument of sasine following therupon, together with the charter and infeftment of the lands and barronie of Knoydart granted be his majestie, lykways under his royall hand and great seale, in favours of the said earle and his forsaids, dated at Whitehall, the threttie day of March 1668 yeers, with the precept and instrument of sasine following therupon, in all and sindrie the heids, clauses, articles, tenors and contents of the samen whatsomever; and his majestie and the saids estates of parliament doe heirby declare, decerne and ordaine that this present generall ratification shall be als valeid, effectuall and sufficient, in all respects, as if the saids charters, precepts and instruments of sasine wer all heirin word be word insert; and which his majestie and the saids estates of parliament holds as a parte heirof and heirin repeited brevitatis causa wheranent they have dispensed and heirby dispenses for ever. And also his majestie, and the saids estates of parliament, declares, decernes and ordains that the saids charters, precepts and instruments of sasine, with this present generall ratification of the samen, are and shall be good, valeid and sufficient rights and securitys to the said earle and his forsaids for the peaceable brooking, joyseing and possessing of the whole lands, earledome, lordships, barronies, offices, priveledges, casualities, honours, dignities, teinds, tenements, castles, tours, fortalices and others particularly and generally therin exprest, perpetually heirafter in all tyme comeing, conforme to the tenor and contents of the samen in all points, and that, notwithstanding of any acts of parliament, other acts, laws, statuts, constitutions and practicks of this kingdome, wheranent and with the generality forsaid and with all that hes or may follow therupon, his majestie and the saids estates of parliament hes dispensed and heirby dispenses for now and ever.
