Our soverane lord, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, ratifies, approves and confirmes ane contract of wodset past upon the [---] day of [---] 1662 yeers betuixt the ordinary lords of his majesties' councill and session on the ane parte, and the provest, baillies, councill, deacons of crafts of the burgh of Edinburgh for themselffs, and as representing the communitie and haill incorporation therof, anent the wodset, alienation and disposition made be the saids magistrats and councill of Edinburgh to the ordinary lords of session and their successors, of all and haill the common lands of the said burgh of Edinburgh called the Commonmure, eister and wester, with the pertinents, with the South Loch thairof, called the Burrow Loch, and with the tuelff common milnes of the said burgh situat upon the water of Leith, with multers, suken, knaveship, thirlage, priveledges and pertinents therof; and siclyk, of all and haill these lands and tenements, bak and fore, under and above, with tinise courts, yeards, stables, closs, well and pertinents thairof, called the King's Work in Leith, bounded and designed in maner conteined in the said contract, together with the charters, infeftments and sasines made and granted to the saids ordinary lords of session be vertew and conforme to the said contract of wodset, together with ane charter of confirmation past under his majesties' great seale, of the date the tuenty† day of Junij 1663 yeers, ratifieing and approveing the forsaid contract of wodset and charter and infeftments following therupon, as in the samen contract, charters and infeftments and charter of confirmation forsaid, under the great seale, at more lenth is contained, in all and sindrie points, heids, articles, clauses, provisions and conditions of the said contract, charters and infeftments abovementioned; willing, declareing and ordaineing this present ratification to be als valeid and sufficient as if the said contract of wodset, charters and others forsaids wer heirin at lenth ingrossed. And his majestie, with advice and consent forsaid, statuts and ordaines that the rights and securities particularly and generally aboverehearsed shall be valeid rights and securities to the saids lords of session and their successors of the lands and others particularly and generally abovementioned, conforme to the tenor therof in all points, notwithstanding of any act of parliament or law made for restraneing the disposeing, wodsetting or burdening the rents and common good of burrowes, and particularly notwithstanding the [...] act [...], with the which his majestie, with advice and consent forsaid, upon good and important considerations heirby dispenses.
