Our soverane lord, considering the favourable condition of minors who are oftentymes destitute of tutors and curators and, though they have them, yet inrespect of their minority they are not in capacity or credite to raise sumes of money for satisfaction of their creditors, and it being unreasonable that their creditors comprisers of their estate, should, dureing the not expyreing of the legall reversion, which according to law continewes dureing their minority, have more advantage by their estate then corresponds to the annualrent of the true sumes ouing to them, by vertew of their compriseings, doth, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, ratifie and approve the act of parliament made in August 1621, cap. 6 in so far as the samen concernes minors; and declares that the true meaning thairof wes and is that minors, haveing right to the legall reversion, should be no further obleidged dureing their minority of tuenty one yeers of age, bot allenerlie for the annuallrent of the sums contained in the compriseings, and that they losse not the right of the superplus of the maills and dueties of the lands so far as the same exceids the saids annuellrents dureing their said minority.

The estates of parliament, haveing heard a supplication presented unto them in name of the inhabitants of the yleand of Zetland, shewing that throw the barronnesse of the soyle of that yleand, it being upon the remotest coast of this kingdome, the petitioners are not able to subsist amongst themselffs without tradeing with forranners, and that, in consideration thairof, it pleased his majestie and estates of parliament, by ane act of the fyft of September last, to grant them libertie to trade and traffect with forraners as formerly, untill the act anent fishing wer put in practise, but now ther being ane act to be past in this session of parliament dischargeing the importeing of beir and strong waters within this kingdome, wnder the paines to be mentioned in the act, the petitioners will not be able to subsist if the said act be extendit against them, specially seing traffecting with forraners is the only meane of their lyvelyhood; therfor, humbly desireing liberty to trade with forraners alswell for importing and vending of beir and strong waters as other commodities, untill the act anent fishing be put in practise, which being taken into consideration, the king's majestie and estates of parliament allowes the supplicants to trade with strangers for importing of beir for the space of ane yeer after the date heirof, and so long therafter as the lords of his majesties' privy councill shall think fit.

Our soverane lord, with advice and consent of the estates of parliament, ratifies, approves and perpetually confirmes his majesties' letter of pardon and grace past under his majesties' royall hand in favours of George Campbell in Innerrary, late shirreff deput of Argyll, of the date at Whitehall, the tuenty-tuo day of March 1661 yeers, with the act of parliament following theron in favours of the said George, dated the thrid day of Aprile the samen yeer, together with his majesties' remission, pardon and indemnity past and exped under his majesties' great seale in favours of the said George Campbell, of the date at Whitehall, the sextein day of January 1663 yeers, wherby his majestie hes not only ratified and approven his majesties' said letter of pardon and grace and act of parliament following therupon in favours of the said George Campbell, bot also, for the said George, his aires and successors their farder security, hath of new pardoned, indemnified, remitted and fully and freely for ever acquitted and discharged the said George Campbell, his airs and successors of and for all treasons, transgressions, delinquencies, crymes, faults and offences and all other actings whatsomever, speaches, wryteings, letters, deads, attempts, projects, councills or designes done, committed, spoken, written or any wayes practised by the said George Campbell, or wherwith he hath been anywayes aiding, abateing, countenanceing, consenting, adviseing, commanding, counselling, permitting, concealeing or any otherwise accessory, arte or parte, directly or indirectly, in any capacity whatsomever, publict or private, civill, militarie or otherwayes in any place of Scotland, against or in prejudice of his majestie, or of his royall father, of blessed memorie, or any other of his royall predecessours, or any of his majesties' subjects dureing the haill troubles within the said kingdome of Scotland, from the moneth of July 1637 yeers untill the tuentie-fourt of May 1660 yeers, in all and sindrie heids, articles and clauses thairof whatsumever. And his majestie, with advice and consent of the saids estates of parliament, doth heirby declare this present generall ratification to be als valeid, effectuall and sufficient in all respects, as if his majesties' said letter of pardon and grace, act of parliament following theron and remission, past under his majesties' great seale, wer word be word insert heirin. And farder, his majestie, with advice forsaid, restores and repones the said George Campbell in integrum against that act and sentence past in the late session of parliament declareing him fugitive for not compeirance and against all that hes followed or may follow therupon, and in persuance thairof his majestie, with advice and consent forsaid, doth heirby give, command and warrand to maissers or messingers of armes to passe to the mercat croce of Edinbrugh, and ther, in his majesties' name and authority, relax the said George Campbell fra the pretendit horneing used against him for his not compeirance, as said is, and receave him to his majesties' peace agane, and declare him frie of all that hes past against him in the said matter, as being now fully and freely pardoned and indemnified by his majestie and receaved into his majesties' grace and favour.

Our soverane lord, with advice and consent of his majesties' estates of this present parliament, ratifies and approves ane signature superscryved be his majestie, with the letter to be exped therupon under his majesties' great seale of this his antient kingdome, in favours of the dean of the chapter of the archbishoprick of St Andrewes, and his successours deans thairof, of the personage of Kinkell, consisting of the severall paroche churches under written, to wit: the churches of Kinkell, Drumblet, Kintore, Skeen, Kinneller, Dyce and Kemnay, personage and viccarage teinds thairof and haill proffeits and emoluments belonging therto, lyeing within the shirreffdome of Aberdein, vaiking in his majesties' hands and at his majesties' gift and donation as undoubted patron of the forsaid personage be decease of Mr James Gordoun, last person of Kinkell, and whairby his majestie ordeanes the forsaid letter to be past under his majesties' greate seale of this his kingdome, suppressing the forsaid benefice and personadge of Kinkell, and† dissolveing, as his majestie, be the forsaid letter, dissolves from the samen the kirks abovementioned and teinds thairof, with the whole patrimony belonging to the forsaid personage of Kinkell, both spiritualitie and temporality, and haill patronages and others perteaneing thairto, to the effect the samen may be incorporat and annexed to the forsaid deanrie of St Andrewes, to be ane parte of the patrimony of the dean thairof and his successors, fra tyme to tyme in all tyme comeing, which personadge of Kinkell consisting of the kirks above exprest, personadge and viccaradge teinds thairof, and haill proffeits and emoluments belonging thairto, and patronadge of the samen kirks; and all other patrimony both spirituality and temporality belonging to the forsaid personage of Kinkell his majestie, be the forsaid signatour, annexed to the said deanrie of St Andrewes, to remaine with the deane thairof and his successours as a parte of the patrimony of the samen, in all tyme comeing. And in testimony thairof, his majestie made and constitute the present deane of St Andrewes and his successors undoubted patrons of the haill kirks respective abovementioned, with full power and commission to them, whensoever any of the samen kirks shall vaik be decease, dimission, transplantation, deprivation or any other way whatsumever, to nominat and present persons fit and qualified for the ministerie at the forsaid respective churches or any of them that shall happin to vaik for the tyme, and to the manse, gleib and stipend thairof, modified or to be modified, provyded that the nomination and presentation of persones to any of the saids kirks be with the expresse consent of the archbishop of St Andrewes and his successors, without which that nomination or presentation be the dean and his successors shall not be valeid or have any effect to the person presented, and upon whose presentation, as aforsaid, his majestie requires the bishop of the dyocie of Aberdein for the tyme to grant admission to such persons as shall be presented be the said dean or his successors, as they shall be fund qualified, and that in the ordinary way used in the lyk, without trouble or delay, and with command therin to the lords of councill and session to grant letters of horning, upon ane simple charge of ten dayes only, and others letters and executorialls neidfull, as effeirs, at the instance of the said dean of St Andrewes and his successors deans thairof, against all and sindrie heritors, fewers, fermers, tennents, taksmen, lyverenters, rentallers and others due and lyable in payment of the haill personage and viccarage teinds of the haill kirks respective abovewritten, for causeing of the said present dean dureing his lifetyme and, after his decease, his successors deanes, their factors and servitors in thair names, to be ansered, obayed and payed thairof over and above the stipends due or which shall be due to the minister who shall serve the cure therat, and that of this instant cropt and yeer of God 1663 yeers, and siclyk yeerly and termely in tymecomeing, as the forsaid signatour ordeaning this present act to be past in maner underwritten, dated at Whitehall the second day of Junij last bypast, at more lenth proports, in all and sindrie points, articles and clauses therof, after the forme and tenor of the samen. And farder, his majestie, with consent forsaid, suppressis and dissolves the haill kirks abovespecified, personage and viccarage therof and patronage of the samen, from the personage aboverehearsed, and incorporats and annexis the samen in and to the forsaid deanrie of St Andrewes perpetually in all tyme comeing, to be bruiked and joysed be the dean thairof fra tyme to tyme as is aboveexprest and, if neid bies, ordeans his majesties' thesaurer principall and deputy and remanent commissioners of his majesties' exchequer of this his antient kingdome, to passe ane new signature of the premisses upon the forsaid suppression, dissolution and annexation in favours of the said dean of St Andrewes and his successors deans thairof, in dew and competent forme.

The estates of parliament, haveing heard a supplication presented be the merchants venterers in the city of Glasgow, mentioning that his majestie and estates of parliament, by the 44[th] act of the first session of this present parliament entituled, act for encurageing of shipping and navigation, doth statute and ordeane that no goods nor commodities whatsumever that are of forrane grouth, product or manufactorie, which are brought to Scotland or any of the iles thairof, should be shipped or brought from any other parte, but only from the place wher these commodities does grow, are produced and made or from the pairts whair the saids goods commonly are or usually have been first shipped for transportation, and from no other place nor cuntrie, and in no other ships or vessells bot such as does only and truely belong to the kingdome of Scotland, and whairof the master or three fourt parts of the mariners are natives and inhabitants within the same, or at least in such ships and vessells as does only and truely belong to and are of the build of these kingdomes wher the saids commodities does grow, are made and produced, under the paine of confiscation of all such goods as shall be imported from any other place or cuntrie or in any other ship or vessell contrair to the true intent and meaneing of the forsaid act, and als under the paine of confiscation of the ship or vessell within which they shall be imported, with her haill furniture, goods, takeling and amunition, the one halffe to his majestie and the other halffe to those who shall discover the contraveeners, as at mair lenth is contained in the forsaid act; and the petitioners and severall others his majesties' good subjects, in consideration of the forsaid act and being confident of the dew execution thairof, hes gone about to expend the most parte of their fortunes for building of ships and advanceing of trades, notwithstanding whairof severall strangers and others, and specially Dutchmen, hes imported severall commodities and goods in Dutch vessells on the river of Clyd and other parts, and hes broken, bulk, sold and made use of the saids commodities, and the petitioners, being about to put to execution against them the tenor of the forsaid act, hes been opposed by those who bought the saids goods and others concurring with the Dutchmen, so that the petitioners are lyk to be rwined in thair fortunes, ther being ten or tuelve new vessells alreadie built and in building belonging to the city of Glasgow, except remeid be provydit by appointing some effectuall course wherby the forsaid act may be put in execution; humbly therfor, desireing his majestie and estates of parliament to renew the former act of parliament above mentioned, and to give order in maner underwritten. Which supplication, with the report of the lords of the articles and such as wer appointed by them to consider the same, being this day returned and at lenth heard and considered in parliament, the king's majestie, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, doth ratifie and approve of the former act of parliament anent navigation, and ordaines his majesties' admirall and his deputs and all magistrats of burrowes, justices of peace and others his majesties' ministers and leidges, to be assisting to any who shall apprehend and seaze any of the goods or vessels importing any goods or commodities contrarie to the tenor of the act of parliament abovementioned, and secure the samen untill it be declared pryse befor his majesties' exchequer, provydit alwayes, lykeas it is heirby declared, that this act is only to be made use of for the tyme to come, and not to be extendit against any ships or goods brought in befor the date heirof, or which wer fraughted, bought or bargoned for befor the date heirof. And further, his majestie, for incourageing of trade, doth, with advice forsaid, heirby discharge the granting of any licences for importeing of goods contrary to the act of parliament abovementioned.
