To the right honourable the lordes off his majesties privie counsell, the humble petitioun of Mr Martein MacGilwra, minister at Mull.
Humbly sheueth,
That your petitioner in the begining off thease wnluckie comotiounes within this kingdome was, for his loyaltie to his majestie and adhearing wnto his interrest deposed from his ministrie, robbed and spoiled off all his goodes, to the hazard off his wtter ruin. May it therfor please your lords (seeing it is your ordinarie practeise in such caices) to comisseratt the conditioun off your disressed petitioner, and to grant him ane precept to Mr Johne Wilkie to be ansuered out off the readiest off the vacant stipendes what your wisdomes think fitt to bestow wpon him. And he as in dutie bund shall pray.

It is the opinion of the lords of the articles that the petitioner have ane hundreth punds sterling appoynted to be payed to him out of the reddiest of the vacant stipends.
