Act in favours of the laird of Laumont

The estates of parliament, considering the great violences and wrong done to the laird of Lawmount be George Campbell, late shirreff of Argyll, Johne Campbell of Artarick and Duncan Campbell in Glengreg, in dispossessing him of his lands and estate for his affection and loyaltie to his majestie, doe ordaine the laird of Lawmont to be repossest against the said George Campbell and the other persones aforsaids who have been accessorie to his sufferings and, therfor, ordeanes the said George Campbell, and the other persones abovenamed, to remove themselffs, thair families, servants and others from their possession of any lands formerly belonging to the laird of Lawmont, and to suffer him, his tennents and servants to enter to the possession and labouring of the samen for the ensueing yeer and cropt 1663, and it is heirby declared that this act, being only for the possession, is not to prejudge George Campbell nor any of the persones forsaids, nor any other persone whatsomever, of any just clame or debt they have against the said Sir James Lawmont, as accords of the law.
