Our soverane lord, takeing to consideration that Archibald McDonnell of the yles of Colinsay and Ornsay wes killed in his majesties' service and that Collonell Mcgillespick, his father, wes put to ane violent death at Dunstaffnage for his faithfull and constant adherence unto and serveing of his majesties' dearest father, of glorious memorie, in those late troubles, and that the said deceast Colonell Mcgillespick and the said deceast Archibald McDonnald, his sonne, were forfalted at the least dispossest of their whole estate in the yeer 164[...] for their good and faithfull service done to their dread soverane by joyneing and concuring in armes with the marques of Montrose for asserting his majesties' just authority and opposeing the enemies and invaders therof, which estate hath ever since the decease of the said Collonell Mcgillespick and Archibald McDonnald, his sonne, who wer put to death and killed in anno 16[...], been brooked and enjoyed be the marques of Argyle and John Mcalaster roy or others to whom they have disposed the same, by which and their debarring of Sara McDonnell, only lawfull daughter and appearand air to the said deceast Archibald McDonnell and oy and appearand air to the said Collonell Mcgillespick from the said estate ever since their decease, and her suffering therby, she hath been redacted to great extremities and hardship and as yet continewes so; and his majestie, being sensible therof and how far it doth concerne his honor that all and everie such decreit and sentence of forfaltour pronunced by parliament, convention, committie of estates or justice court, and all acts, interloquiturs and others relateing thairto preceiding the date heirof, be reduced as unwarrantablie and illegallie pronunced upon most unjust grounds, and that the said Sara McDonnell, as only daughter and appeirand air to her said father and oy and appearand air to her said grandfather, be reponed and possest to the said estate and yles of Colonsay and Ornsay with the pertinents, notwithstanding of any such sentence, decreit or interloquitur, as said is; thairfor, his majestie, with advice and consent of his estates of parliament, cassis, annulls, declares and decernes all and everie such sentence or decreit of forfaltour pronunced by parliament, convention, committee of estates or justice court, and all acts, interloquiturs or others relateing therto against the said Collonell Mcgillespick and Archibald McDonnell, his sonne, and all acts and deids done and past therupon in prejudice of the said Sara McDonnald, their appearand air, preceiding the date heirof, to have been from the begining, to be now and in all tyme comeing null, voyd and of no strenth, force nor effect, as if the same had never been pronunced, and that it shall be lawfull to the said Sara Mackdonnell to serve her selff and enter air to the said deceast Archibald McDonnell, her father, or the said Collonell Mcgillespick, her grandfather, or any of her predicessours in the said estate or any other estate wherin they or any of them died infeft, and to brooke and enjoy all freedomes and immunities as if the said sentences or acts had never been pronunced or made, and to enter to the peaceable possession of the said estate immediatly but any let obstacle or gainsaying.
