The which day the lord register, haveing presented Sir Johne Gibesone, Mr Johne Hay, Mr Thomas Hay, Mr Alexander Gibesone, Mr Laurence Scot and Robert Hamiltoun to be his deputs as clerks of the session, conforme to the gifts and deputations granted be him unto them, they wer admitted and gave their oaths de fideli administratione in presence of the estates of parliament.
Forasmuch as Sir Archibald Primerose of Chester, knight and barronet, be vertew of a warrand under his majesties' hand of the seventh of Agust last, hes hithertills exerced the office of clerk of register and appointed deputies in the session and for keepeing of the registers of sassines in the severall shires of this kingdome, the king's majestie and estates of parliament approves his exerceing of the office aforsaid be his majesties' warrand and of the deputationes given be him therin, and will and declare the same to be valeid in all time comeing.
