The first parliament of our most heigh and dread soverane Charles, be the grace of God, king of Scotland, England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith etc. holden and begun at Edinburgh, the first day of January, one thousand, sex hundreth threscore one yeers, be Johne, earle of Midletoun, lord Clermond and Fettercarne, be vertew of a spetiall commission under his majesties' great seall, with the advice and consent of the estats of parliament underwritten, ther being also present the ordinarie officers, earle of Arroll, constable, earle of Marishall, Sir Robert Murray, provest of Edinburgh, Mr William Wallace, shirreff, and Andrew Lothian, dempster.
