Commissioun for taking inspectione of his maties rentis
Att Stirling, the sext day of Junii jM vjC and fiftie ane yeiris. Our soverane lord and estaitis of parliament, now presentlie conveened in this eight sessioun of this secund trienniall parliament, considdering that the comptis of his maties rents and casualities are now of lang tyme lyin over onfitted and endit thir many yeiris bypast, and that now of late since his maties cuming to Scotland thair hes beene diverse soumes of money raised by the estaits of this kingdome and delyvirt in to the commissioners of his maties thesaurie and receaveris of his maties rents to be imployed for his maties wse, and the kingis matie being graciouslie willing at the desyre of the saids estaitis that inspectione be takin of all the comptis and intromissiones with his maties rents and casualities and with the uther sowmes giwin in be the estaits of this kingdome for his maties wse, and that since the intromissione of the present commissar of the thesaurarie and ther medling thairwith, thairfore our soverane lord, with advyse and consent forsaid, gives and grantis be thir presentis full power, warrand and commissioune to the persones eftir following, viz: the erle of Tullibardin, lords Balcarras, Bargeny [and] Cochrane for the noblemen; Humbie, Lea, Niddrie [and] Skirling for the barrones; Sir Johne Smyth, Archibald Sydserff, James Sword and Johne Bosuall for the burrowes, or ony sevin of them to be the quorum, to receave from the commissioneris of his maties thesaurie and receaveris of his maties rentis and casualities the accompts of ther intromissioune with his maties rents evir since ther intromissioune and the accomptis of all sowmes of money giwin in to them be the estaitis of this kingdome for his maties wse and raised for that effect evir since his matie cam to this kingdome, with power also to the saids commissioners or quorum forsaid to tak notice and mak enquirie of such of his maties rentis and casualities as the saids commissioneris of the said thesaurarie aucht to have intrometted with. And for the bettir effectuating of the premises, ordanis the saids commissioneris of the thesaurarie and receaveris of his maties rents and casualities and of the saids sowmes givin be the estaits of this kingdome to his maties use as said is to give in ther accomptis abonewrittin, chairge and dischairge, betwixt and the first day of Julii nixttocum to the saids commissioneris heirby appoynted for receaveing theroff, with power also to the saids commissioneris or quorum forsaid to call for his maties rolls of excheker, exchekquher bookes or uther paperis quhatsumevir which may facilitat the expeeding of the saids accomptis. And ordanis the saids commissioners to mak thair report of what they find in the saids accomptis to the kingis matie and parliament or comittie of estaits with all conveniencie.
