Prima dies parliamenti

[Sermons given; oaths taken; exhibition of the honours]

Efter divyne service, the sermones being maid be Mr Robert Douglas and Mr David Diksone, tharefter Williame, now erle of Roxburgh subscryved the oath of parliament, the Nationall Covenant [and] the Solemne League and Covenant.

The lord marquis of Argyll askit instruments upoun the productione of the honors in face of parliament, viz: the croun, scepter and sword, whiche wer thane delyvered to the laird of Scottiscraig in name of the Erle Marchell.

The oath of parliament, being redd, wes takin by the haill members of parliament present.

The acts anent the electione of the president of parliament on in anno 1641 and the other anno 1647 redd in parliament, and efter reiding the erle of Lowdoun, lord chancelar, wes elected and voyced to preceid in this sessione of parliament.

The laird of Wauchtoun, commissioner for East Lothiane, took the oath of parliament and subscryved the said oath, the Nationall Covenant and the Solemne League and Covenant.

Warrand givin to the magistrats of Edinburgh to keep the prisoners in sure firmance who cam from the north till farther ordour.

Ordans the nixt meiting of parliament to be the morrow at ten hours.
