The quhilk day in presens of the estaits of parliament compeirit personallie David, erle of Weyms, who being formerlie electit and chosine be the saidis estaits of parliament [to] be one of his maties privie counsall, and being requyrit to accept the said chairge and to give his aith thairupon, the said David, erle of Weymis, personallie present as said is, acceptit the said chairge and being sworne, maid faith de fideli administratione for going about the dischairge of that place as ane of his maties privie counsall, and thairupon askit instruments.
