Report anent the supplicatioun of Agnes Stewart aganis James Stevinsone, hir husband, anent the wrangis and violences done be him to hir, and therby forceing hir to leive his companie
The committie haveing hard the parties and considerit the supplicatioun, with the act and testificatioun of the presbiterie of Glasgow anent the husbandis miscareage to the supplicant, his awin wyff, it is the humble oppinioun of the committie that thair salbe presentlie payit to the supplicant for defraying the expenses of hir bygane intertenement that scho hes bein out of hir husband's famelie, occasioned by his falt, the sowme of ane hundrethe merks out off the first end of the aucht scoir merks dew to hir yeirlie be hir first husband and payable be Androw King, ther sone, and that the supplicantis discharge wpone this hundreth merks be declareit sufficient for the payar's exoneratioun therof. As also it is the oppinioun of the committie that the supplicant be ordaneit to go home and adheare to hir husband, and that he be appoyntit to cohabeit with hir in ane Christiane and peceable way as becomes husband and wyff in sick maner as the presbiterie of Glasgow, quha hes takin tryell of the bygane miscareage, sall think fitt, and that the husband become actit and giff suche assureance to the presbiterie to the effect abonespeit as they sall judge necessar, quherintill giff he failzie and contraveine, it is the oppinioun of the committie that the supplicant, efter declarator of the failzie, sall have ryght to the forsaid aucht scoir merks to be payit to hir yeirlie thereftir, and hir discharge therupone to be sufficient to the payare without hir husband's consent.
