Pass for Colonell Williame Stewart
Wheras the bearer, Colonell Williame Stuart, is to repaire to the kingdome of England, these ar to desyre all persones whom it may concerne to suffer and permitt him, with his servantes and retinue, to pass thither and returne without any let or impediment whatsoever and to affoord him readye dispatche and faire usage on his way. Geven at Edinburgh, the 29 day of Maii 1649.
