Act in favors of Colonell Johne Innes

The estaits of parliament, having hard and considerit ane supplicatioun givin in be Colonell Johne Innes, schewing that notwithstanding of the assignments grantit upon the shirefdoms of Bamff and Murray for 3,800 lib. towards the intertinement of the garisouns, the trew trust whairof the saidis estaits were pleasit to lay upon him, yit all his dilligence for recovering the same hes hitherto provin ineffectuall inregaird of the committies of war of the said shyrs refusse to pay the foirsaid soume, alledging they ought to have retentioun therof to mak up the quarterings, and that thair is ane act of parlament for it, whairby the most pairt of his sojors hes receavit no pay since the first day of Julii last bot have bein mantained be him upon some mealls bought for them, so that if some speidie course be not takine for the payment of these garisouns it is feared they may miscarie. Thairfoir the suplicant desyrs that the conditioun of these garisons (being of so much concernment) may be takine into consideratioun and that ordor be givine aither to mak the assigments grantit upon the saids shyrs furthwith effectuall (all quarterings being deducit that can be instructed justlie restand be any of them undir his command) or some uther present remedie be thought upon and appointit for ther satisfaction, both for the bypast and futur tyms, as the said supplicatioun beirs. Quhilk being takin into consideratioun be the saids estaits of parliament, they have ordainit and ordanis the severall heritors and uthers lyable in payment of monthlie mantinance within the shirefdoms of Banff and Muray to pay ther mantinance to the said Colonell Johne Innes conform to his assignments, notwithstanding of quarterings whairby ther said mantinance may be exhausted; and ordanis the committie of war and collectors in the said shyrs of Bamff and Murray to be assisting to the said Colonell Johne Innes for payment to him conform to his assignments as said is.
