The estaits of parliament, having hard and considderit ane supplicatioun givin in to them be the presbitrie of Edinbrugh, schewing that for as much as the committie appointit be the saidis estaits to consider upon the supplicatioun presented on Thursday last, the tuentie sext of Julii instant, have beine so takine up with uther important affairs lying befoir them in uther committies whairof they are members that they are not able to prepair ane report during this sessioun of parliament, thairfoir they humblie desyr that the saidis estaits of parliament wold be pleasit to refere the said supplicatioun to the committie of estaits, with full powar to them to determine as they shall find agrieable to reassoun and equitie and to sett a tyme for the committie to determine thairin, that the maiter lye not long ovir wndetermined, as the said supplicatioun bears. Quhilk being takine into consideratioun be the saids estaits of parliament, they doe grant the desyr of the supplicatioun and remitts the samyne to the committie of estaits, with full power to them to determine thairin and that speidelie, that the maiter lye not long ovir undetermined; and appoints the pairties intrest to be callit and hard befoir them.
