The estaits of parliament, taking to thair consideratioune ane suplicatioun givine in to them be the commissioun of the generall assemblie, makand mentioune that quher at the last sessioune of parliament they wer bold to represent to the saids estaits of parliament that thair reverand brother Doctor Scharp, from his affectioun to the publict†cause and zeale of promoveing the work of God and for advancing of the same, did len his whole stock to the sowme of tuentie thousand merks, which, with the bygone annuellrents in anno 1647, extendit to tuentie four thousand merks, for payment whairof, precept wes drawin upon the parliament of England; and that notwithstanding of the straits that his wyff and childrine are lyk to be reduced unto, that they had as then gottin no pairt of the principale and verie litle of the annuell of the foirsaid, and the favorable answer which the saids estaits of parliament then gave them pat them in hops that naither that poor widow and hir childrine nor they should have neided any moir to suplicat the saids estaits of parliament in that particular; bot finding that nothing is yit maid effectuall, they did againe intreat the saids estaits of parliament that they wold be pleasit to tak such cours as may be indeid effectuall for giving in to hir present satisfactioun of all the bygane annuells and to provyd a suir way for the said principall sowme. The saidis estaitis of parliament declairs that they will tak cours for payment of the said suplicant befoir the raising of this session of parliament, and that they will give hir preference to any uther particular shall come in heirefter.
